Sydney Turns Two: A Birthday Celebration Fit for a Princess (and a Toddler Who Talks Nonstop)

They say the terrible twos are coming, but honestly? I feel like we already did that. The ones were our chaotic era. So the twos? I’m claiming them now—they’re going to be sweet, silly, and full of magic.
This age is truly my favorite so far. Sydney is in her Disney-princess-animal-loving era. She chats non-stop, wants to wear princess dresses, performs shows, plays "restaurant", and is absolutely obsessed with Mickey, Minnie, and any every single animal. So when it came to planning her second birthday, I knew it had to be a celebration of all the things she loves most.
Party #1: The Ice Cream Dream
We kicked things off with a full-blown birthday bash at Magic Place in Doral—and let me tell you, it was the best decision because they set up the entire party for you and know how to execute your theme. The theme? A pastel Minnie & Mickey ice cream shop, because Sydney is loves ice cream and Minnie/Mickey, of course. The venue is all white, which means your theme pops in the best way. They handled everything except the cake, goodie bags, and characters (which I brought in myself), and it was perfection.
The decorations were adorable. Think soft pastels, Mickey ears on everything, and the happiest vibe. Kids ran wild, parents could relax, and I didn’t have to stress over set-up or clean-up. 10/10 would recommend.
Party #2: A Royal Home Celebration
On her actual birthday, we kept things more intimate with close friends and family at home—and gave Sydney the ultimate surprise: Cinderella herself showed up. Yes, the real one (at least according to Sydney). We had a mini royal celebration, sang happy birthday, and everyone went home before bedtime (YAY!).
Birthday Finale: Disney Weekend at Fort Wilderness
To end the celebration with a bang, we took a magical trip to Disney and stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins—our new favorite Disney resort. These cabins are everything for families: space, privacy, and cozy vibes that feel like a forest retreat.
We had two character dining experiences—Crystal Palace (where Winnie the Pooh and friends made her whole life) and Ohana, which had the best vibes and views. We of course hit Magic Kingdom, where Sydney met princesses, danced in front of the castle, and waved at every single parade float like she was running for mayor.
My Heart is Full
I’m not saying I’ll plan three celebrations every year, but this one felt really special. It was joyful, chaotic, emotional, and magical—just like toddlerhood.
This is my favorite era. I don’t take for granted how fun it is to watch her become her own person. Two years of Sydney and somehow we’re more obsessed with her than ever.
