Ready to eat and drink all weekend long???!! DUHHH. Napa Valley is the perfect place for a girls trip. You can wear cute clothes, take amazing pics, and feel like you're in France or Italy sipping your favorite bougie wine and eating your heart out! I recently celebrated my sister's bachelorette weekend in Napa with 8 of our closest friends. It was a HIT! We had a blast. This post will tell you what we did and how we did it.

Before I get started, you must know:

  • You better make wine tasting and dinner reservations in ADVANCE online or by phone! Many wineries require you pay for the tastings at the time of booking. Many also have a limit of persons per party. So do not procrastinate!

  • Most things in Napa and surrounding areas close early, so keep this in mind when making dinner reservations or deciding to walk around the town.

  • Hire a driver for your wine tasting days. This way you do not have to worry about drinking and driving or annoying directions. We hired Tom at $30 per hour. He drove the car we rented (more on that below). His phone number is 626-567-2057.

Flight, car rental, and hotel info:

We flew into San Francisco's international airport. Our flight arrived at night. We rented a large sprinter van from Airport Van Rentals. Because it was afterhours when we arrived to the airport, we had to take an uber to the van pick up location. It was smooth and just 5 minutes away. However, if you arrive to San Francisco during the day, there is a shuttle that picks you up from the airport and takes you to the pick up location. We drove from San Francisco to Napa that same night. The drive was only an hour and ten minutes.

We stayed at the Napa Valley Marriott Resort & Spa. It was recently remodeled and the rooms are spacious. The lobby is really nice and there is a super cute courtyard with fire pits. They have a DJ playing chill music on weekends. There is also a cute restaurant but the food is whatever. The hotel is super central, close to many wineries and restaurants, and just 10 minutes from Yountville.

Itinerary:

DAY 1--TRAVEL DAY.

Nothing special. We flew into San Fran at night. Picked up the rental. Ate Taco Bell. Drove to Napa. Checked into the Marriott at midnight.

Castello di Amorosa Winery. Okay, this place is gorgeous!!! It is a castle that make you feel like you're in the medieval version of Bridgeton. The wine tastes great, but the service is weak and the waiter's pour is depressing. Impossible to get tipsy with the sad pours. But--again--the location is BEAUTIFUL and worth the visit just for pictures and views.

Lunch at Sam's Social Club. Just go here! Such a cute restaurant with delicious food and wine. Everything we tried was delicious. The bottles of wine we ordered were great! And the tequila shots were huge. I actually thought it was white wine at first because there was so much in the cup. lol

Ballentine. Cute family winery. We sat in the cellar which was really cool. Mainly red wine. Great service!

Alpha & Omega. AMAZING! Fancy, bougie tasting with fun music and gorgeous outdoor seating area. This place is just a vibe that cannot be missed.

Gloria Ferrer brunch & sparkling wine paring. Bury me here!!!!!! This place feels like heaven. It is so so so pretty!!! The brunch was delicious and the sparkling wine was even better. I honestly did not like sparkling wine until Gloria Ferrer!

Laird Family Winery. Cute family winery with great wine, but nothing extraordinarily special.

Domaine Chandon. Bury me here too!!!! This place is so gorgeous!! We had phenomenal food and sparkling wine. I think this was my favorite. We had a family style lunch here with the best food I've ever had! The service was spectacular. The grounds were gorgeous. The sparkling wine was delicious. They also sell the cutest things. I bought a baseball cap and candle!

Brunch at Lucy. Lucy is in bougie ass hotel in Yountville. The toilet in the lobby has warm seats and talks to you lol. The food was yummy and we loved walking around the Yountville town after.

San Fran. After brunch we drove back to San Fran. We visited the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf before heading to the airport. San Fran is really pretty but parking is a fucking nightmare. And there are signs everywhere warning to watch your belongings and not to leave belongings in your car because they will be stolen. Super turned off by that.

Other wineries and restaurants to consider:

  • Far Niete Winery

  • Mumm

  • Darioush

  • Domaine Carneros

  • Frank Family Winery

  • RH Restaurant

  • French Laundry
